The Florida Everglades are home to some of the most unique and beautiful wild orchids in the world.

We chose the Scarlet Ladies Tresses Orchid because it is one of the most colorful and unique flowers in Florida. It is very common in lowland marsh areas and along back roads in the southern portion of the state.

The flower is quite large, between 12 and 14 inches tall extending from a single thick stem. The plant requires significant moisture to thrive.

While it is not technically endangered flora, picking or transplanting the flowers is discouraged.
